Requirements
  • A minimum high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 2–5 years of Escrow Officer experience is required.
  • Candidates must meet licensing requirements established by state and federal agencies.
  • Candidates must meet state-required Notary Public licensing requirements.
  • Candidates must be DFPI eligible.
  • Customer service experience engaging with diverse homebuyer demographics is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
  • Candidates must understand title and escrow processes and be able to execute complex transactions.
  • Candidates must be able to multitask in a fast-paced and demanding work environment, follow up effectively, pay attention to detail, adapt to change, collaborate across dispersed teams, communicate verbally and in writing, prioritize conflicting demands, and meet department needs with available resources.
Responsibilities
  • Handle all aspects of settlement transactions, including preparing and approving settlement statements, preparing and coordinating deeds, verifying loan and insurance documentation, and reviewing seller statements and contracts or sales agreements.
  • Obtain signatures for closing transactions, explain executed documents as needed, and facilitate questions and answers between transaction parties.
  • Follow Escrow Accounting Business Practice Guidelines, including collecting and disbursing funds in compliance with applicable state and federal Good Funds statutes.
  • Review escrow quality assurance reports and resolve outstanding issues to ensure compliance with business policies.
  • Ensure timely and accurate transfer of information and documentation from the settlement team to Recording and Accounting departments.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff.
  • Process a higher volume of closings than Escrow Officers while maintaining efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensure adherence to workflow processes.
  • Perform other assigned duties.

  • Experience with OneNote and SoftPro is a plus.

  • Effective time management and prioritization to meet deadlines and optimize workflows.
