Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Arts degree and 3-5 years of public-relations agency experience working on publicity campaigns with top fashion, consumer/lifestyle, or retail brands, including luxury brand public-relations agency experience.
  • Strong media contacts across fashion, lifestyle, trade, and business publications, along with stylist and talent contacts and familiarity with fashion influencers and bloggers.
  • Strong editor and media relations, written communication, and client-interaction skills, plus in-depth knowledge of the fashion industry and trends.
  • Superior press-release and pitch-writing, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills, including the ability to develop rapport with clients and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Ability to align press initiatives with the business goals of brands and clients.
  • Expertise maintaining ongoing relationships within the media and entertainment industry.
  • Advanced presentation skills and the ability to manage clients and gain their confidence.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as a primary client contact and manage and drive multiple client account programs and teams while delivering strategic value.
  • Secure strategic press coverage, including features and product placements, in national and key regional television and online publications.
  • Maintain strong relationships with fashion directors, key fashion editors, relevant fashion stylists, bloggers, fashion influencers, VIPs, managers, publicists, and agents.
  • Plan, develop, and advise clients on integrated and measurable public-relations initiatives and strategies.
  • Ensure key milestones and projects remain on track, within prescribed timelines, and on budget.
  • Secure product placement and dressing for celebrity press appearances, upcoming movies, festivals, red-carpet events, and related opportunities.
  • Generate creative ideas and solutions to everyday problems and challenges.
  • Proactively pitch and secure editorial opportunities, maintain press interest in existing products, create buzz around new launches, and generate media stories supporting VIP placements.
  • Interact proactively with the press and nurture strategic relationships with editors across all channels through regular communication.
  • Ensure client and stylist requests are fulfilled and delivered on time and provide value.
  • Manage specialty events, including guest-list creation, client management, budget management, VIP outreach, and press coverage.
  • Write press releases and assist with budget management and event management, including guest-list support, RSVPs, and media alerts.
  • Work with the Senior Account Executive and Account Supervisor to manage client timelines and budgets.
  • Multitask across multiple client accounts and projects under deadline.
  • Brainstorm creative partnership and activation ideas for clients.
  • Work with the Assistant Account Executive to create, maintain, and timely distribute editorial reports, press-tracking documents, and budgetary-tracking documents.
Desired Qualifications
  • Preferred experience in womenswear, menswear, and accessories.
  • Familiarity with Fashion GPS.
