Requirements
  • A master's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field, or enrollment in a doctorate program from an accredited or state-approved graduate school is required.
  • Board registration as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate, Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker Associate, Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, or Psychologic Associate in the state where services are provided is required.
  • Experience with individual, family, and/or group therapy involving young adults or adolescents is required.
Responsibilities
  • Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions using Newport Healthcare’s clinical model and the principles of Attachment-Based Family Therapy.
  • Act as the primary clinical contact for families and maintain clear, proactive communication throughout treatment.
  • Lead Family Orientations, Welcome Presentations, and Family Support Groups.
  • Perform risk assessments and develop safety plans upon admission.
  • Complete biopsychosocial assessments and treatment plans with timely and accurate documentation.
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to establish and monitor treatment goals and participate in regular 30-day treatment plan reviews.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records, including assessments, progress notes, and discharge summaries, in accordance with organizational standards.
  • Conduct risk or crisis assessments and implement appropriate interventions for acute situations.
  • Participate in weekly treatment team meetings, staff gatherings, and clinical supervision.
  • Represent Newport Healthcare at professional meetings, trainings, and conferences.
Desired Qualifications
  • A license is highly preferred.
  • Experience with mental health, substance abuse, eating disorders, or trauma-informed treatment is preferred.
