Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, physics, or a related field is required.
  • Three years of experience in data analysis is required.
  • The ability to speak, read, and write English sufficiently to perform the essential functions of the job is required.
  • Strong computer programming skills are required.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Access, shell scripting, and multiple software applications is required.
  • Experience with relational database design is required.
  • Excellent analytical and statistical skills are required.
  • The ability to work independently is required.
Responsibilities
  • Provide analytical support for data generated by the department.
  • Create, design, and implement processes to ensure accurate data collection and input.
  • Maintain the department database and provide ongoing training to end users.
  • Gather, analyze, and report statistical information and patient outcomes to external and internal customers.
  • Perform statistical power and sample size determination, inferential hypothesis testing, algorithm development, numerical methods, data mining, and knowledge discovery in databases as needed.
  • Prepare monthly departmental reports and complete regulatory reporting in a timely manner.
  • Recommend technology and processes that support department goals and regulatory compliance.
  • Complete or assign other data requests.
  • Communicate database query results and electronic protocol management system upgrades to coworkers, staff, and management.
  • Work directly with physicians, clinical staff, and management on customized data queries and operational or research requests.
  • Provide troubleshooting logic for technical support.
  • Gather, enter, and audit data in databases.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and other reports on productivity, quality activities, trends, and relevant clinical or business metrics.
  • Conduct routine data processing and implement quality control methods.
  • Develop standard operating procedures and ensure compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality regulations.
  • Participate with management in the department's performance improvement program.
  • Conduct statistical power and sample size determination, inferential hypothesis testing, data mining, and knowledge discovery in databases as appropriate.
  • Perform clinical data analyses for multiple studies.
  • Program and develop algorithms for numerical methods and develop workflows and data pipelines for projects.
  • Collaborate with Technology on software system proposals, purchases, installations, upgrades, enhancements, and modifications.
Desired Qualifications
  • Familiarity with common imaging tools, database experience, and neuroinformatics software.
  • Previous database project management experience.
  • Knowledge of medical practices and terminology.
  • Experience with report-writing tools.
  • Experience in a healthcare or research setting.
