Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering; or similar in a relevant technological discipline.
  • Eight or more years of experience in similar industry.
  • Knowledge of CSA Group, UL and IEC standards; variety of test procedures involved in the 60601 and 61010 families of standards, including EMC/Radio/Wireless testing and evaluation.
  • Knowledge of CSA Group programs and services.
  • Proven track record of providing excellent customer service to both external and internal customers.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Public speaking – in both oral and written proposal and presentations.
  • Excellent listening and retention skills.
  • High level of initiative to meet or exceed targeted goals with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organization, creativity and project management skills to plan for projects, events and conferences.
  • Problem resolution skills to ensure high quality and timely services.
  • Eight or more years of experience in similar industry.
  • Sales or Marketing experience preferred
Responsibilities
  • Serve as a Subject Matter expert to provide technical direction and mentoring within the Healthcare/Medical Device Industry and staff.
  • Perform certification projects and project reviews (CB, Full & Category) as required to maintain technical qualifications.
  • Actively seek value added opportunities that increases customer interest and promotes the use of new services for CSA Group. In collaboration with the New & Strategic Account Managers, contact inactive and former CSA Group customers to attempt to regain work.
  • Respond promptly to all technical sales inquiries and visits with clients.
  • Resolves technical issues and provides interpretation of technical requirements to support the quoting process.
  • In partnership with the New and Strategic Account Managers, establish and maintain account relationships to meet sales targets, emphasizing the expanded use of CSA Group services.
  • Prepare written pricing proposals for services for clients, working with the commercial team and as required with the technical operations staff.
  • Participate in associations and outside organizations deemed appropriate by the commercial business unit leader. Establishes and maintains a list of contacts to be shared with others on team.
  • Manage the relationship with clients by determining client needs and expectations. Relate necessary information to operations to maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Represent CSA Group at assigned trade shows, exhibits, conferences and client presentations. Identifies and communicates business opportunities and competitive trends.
  • Evaluate industry reports, territory databases, and external competitive information and develops territory analysis or provides input to others for presentation and reporting to manager.
  • Participate in CSA Group Technical Network, Technical Panel as required and may support international standards development.
  • Determine applicable requirements / test / standards and sample requirements and method / location for testing / evaluation best suited to customers’ needs.
  • Becomes fully knowledgeable in all national / international standards through research of standards, documentation, bulletins and technical articles and participates in Standards development work.

CSA opens lab to test medical-grade PPE

TORONTO – CSA Group has announced the opening of an accredited, special-purpose laboratory dedicated to testing and certifying the safety of medical-grade PPE. Until now, there have been no domestic providers of testing and certification services for medical-grade PPE.
