Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development credential is required.
- Two years of field experience or equivalent certification as a State of Ohio Certified Basic Emergency Medical Technician, Intermediate Emergency Medical Technician, or Paramedic is required.
- Working knowledge of National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician testing skills is required.
- Knowledge of prehospital care delivered at the Emergency Medical Technician-Basic, Intermediate Emergency Medical Technician, or Paramedic level is required.
- Verbal communication and technical skills consistent with Emergency Medical Care, the Ohio Department of Emergency Medical Services, and all accrediting bodies are required.
- Ability to identify and correct weaknesses in student skill performance is required.
Responsibilities
- Assist in setting up skill laboratories for Emergency Services Technology students.
- Monitor student progress through observation and mentoring during completion of skill laboratory work.
- Assist instructors with explaining, demonstrating, and assessing students in the laboratory setting.
- Assist with cleaning and replacing items used in skill laboratories as directed by the Lab Coordinator.
- Provide testing monitoring while students complete the National Registry skills verification test at the end of each semester.
