The Oregon Department of Corrections is currently recruiting for a Statewide Financial Program Coordinator. This exciting opportunity is based at the ODOC Headquarters in Salem, Oregon, and is an onsite office position. To be eligible, applicants must be current employees of ODOC, BOPPPS, or OCE. Please note that contract workers are not eligible to apply.

About the Job – Your Role

The Statewide Financial Program Coordinator supports the Statewide Financial Programs Manager in driving the overall operations and objectives of the Statewide Financial Programs unit. This role serves as the primary point of contact for project-related communications, ensuring timely updates and alignment among internal and external partners within Financial Services. The ideal candidate will anticipate the needs of a high-performing team, adapt gracefully to shifting priorities, and reduce the project team’s administrative burden by managing scheduling, documentation, and reporting tasks. Responsibilities include coordinating and planning routine projects related to Other Funds, adult in custody (AIC) Revenue Generating Activities and Programs, and Special Projects that support agency goals. The position involves conducting extensive research, data gathering, and analysis of complex information, as well as preparing concise reports and summaries for internal stakeholders and agency partners. Interprets relevant department policies, administrative rules, and federal and state statutes to provide program assessments supports and compliance guidance. Collaboration with Financial Services staff, management, and agency functional units is essential to facilitate effective actions that align with regulatory requirements. Additionally, the specialist assists in developing and executing best business practices and, when necessary, revising applicable policies and Oregon Administrative Rules under the Financial Services purview.

Minimum Qualifications

• Three (3) years of secretarial or administrative support experience that includes coordinating office procedures, preparing narrative and statistical reports, and administrative data collection and analysis; OR
• An associate degree in general office occupations and two (2) years of secretarial or administrative support experience that includes coordinating office procedures, preparing narrative and statistical reports, and administrative data collection and analysis; OR
• An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Working Conditions

This position is based onsite at the ODOC Headquarters in Salem, Oregon. The primary working environment consists of office-based tasks involving frequent computer use and regular communication. Sensory requirements include reading documents and active participation in meetings. Occasional travel may be required for meetings and events, which could involve exposure to varying environmental conditions, including contact with AICs. The workload is variable, with periods of high intensity and tight deadlines interspersed with quieter intervals. The Statewide Financial Programs Unit manages a range of complex projects that require the ability to effectively balance and adapt to competing agency priorities.
