- A High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience is required.

- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider certification from the American Heart Association is required.
- Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing 0-25 pounds.
- Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing 25-50 pounds.
- Ability to perform frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching, and repetitive foot, leg, hand, and arm movements.
- Ability to use vision and depth perception for near and far distances and to identify and distinguish colors.
- Ability to use hearing and speech to share information orally and hear alarms and malfunctioning machinery.
- Frequent keyboard use and data-entry ability are required.
- Ability to occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, and grip.
- Ability to rarely climb.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Assist customers by answering phones and responding to customer inquiries.
- Assist laboratory staff with daily laboratory operations by collecting, labeling, processing, and preserving blood, urine, and other specimens according to established laboratory procedures.
- Enter, access, and execute laboratory orders in the appropriate laboratory and electronic medical record system.
- Clean and maintain laboratory supplies and the work area.
- Update statistical records, label tubes, and schedule processing runs as needed.
- Perform phlebotomy and/or waived testing as needed.
- Identify patients using two identifiers.
- Perform administrative and clerical duties, including admission activities, insurance verification, order-entry processing, and medical-record processing.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
