  • Bachelor's degree in chemical or mechanical engineering.
  • At least 3 years of experience as facilities engineer or in a similar role.

Responsibilities
  • Determining facility and equipment specifications by gathering and analyzing data, blueprints, and reports.
  • Analyzing project costs and preparing budgets.
  • Planning and coordinating infrastructure and equipment maintenance schedules and activities.
  • Coordinating and overseeing contractors performing maintenance activities.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, building codes, and health and safety standards.
  • Preparing reports and compliance documentation.
  • Gathering and reviewing data concerning facility or equipment specifications based on thorough financial planning and cost analysis of a facility.
  • Determining what particular needs the project has and developing management control systems that will reduce costs.
  • Must learn and understand product and operational accounting methods.
  • Evaluating operational systems and facility infrastructure to ascertain and improve operational efficiencies with the aromatic and specialty chemical processes.
  • Assessing chemical processes to identify areas that need to be modified or optimized to comply with industry standards.
  • Performing analyses of operational processes, resource allocation, energy use, and safety processes, and recommending and implementing improvements.
  • Must have in-depth understanding of the production schedules, engineering specifications, process flows, and other information about the process of the facility.
  • Using this knowledge of the methods and activities to determine ways that processes can be refined to make the manufacturing or delivery of services more efficient.
  • Researching and developing new processes, equipment, and products.
  • Developing detailed layouts for equipment, processes, and workflow.
  • Evaluating existing manufacturing processes and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Determining problem resolutions and implementing improvements.
