Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • College courses helpful
  • Minimum of 5 years terminal operations experience
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite, various email and internet programs and applications, sales and inventory software database, and other programs
  • Previous supervisory experience helpful
  • Experience working with Federal, state and local environmental regulations including RCRA
  • Excellent English communication skills both oral and written; Spanish language helpful
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements
  • Experience working in a safety critical environment
  • Strong math skill for inventory control and blending operations
  • Must be able to work carrying and/or rotating shifts
Responsibilities
  • Abides by all safety procedures and practices applicable to location and position; participates in appropriate safety training; demonstrates commitment to and support of SH&E principles and values; champions safety as necessary Act as site controller in the case of an emergency until Operations Superintendent or Terminal Manager arrives
  • Supervises operations staff; coaches, motivates, develops, trains, and evaluates employees; spends 80% of his/her time in-the-field and 20% of his/her time to office communications and administration
  • Leads and manages his/her team to achieve the targets set by the management. Understands the overall picture and plans the activities accordingly. Monitoring and ensuring proper product quality and quantity within the framework of legislation and company regulations concerning safety, environment and labor conditions.
  • Documents time sheets, absenteeism and overtime; sets improvement goals and follows up as required for employee six-month progressions; performs quality checks on all operators
  • Supervises and participates in all loading and unloading operations; schedules operators ensuring manpower levels meet needs; prioritizes assignments
  • Responsible for personal use and guidance of other in the planning, scheduling, work instruction assignment, and execution of production orders through management systems and field devices
  • Ensures the operational policies & procedures are adhered to. Contribute to the development and or alteration of policies & procedures from an operational perspective. Assigns and releases work instructions for execution
  • Ensures employees have proper equipment; keeps complete inventory and maintenance schedule of all equipment including vehicles, tools, portable radios, and dedicated hoses
  • Maintains operations facilities appearance; performs inspections; reviews and updates standard operating procedures as necessary
  • Enforces plant safety policies; maintains safe work environment; ensures all safety regulations, laws, Company practices, etc. are followed; ensures permit compliance
  • Communicates to management and customer service problems concerning delivery modes
  • Managing internal activities; recommends and implements improvements; plans and schedules miscellaneous terminal activities
  • Verifies shift changes run smoothly; ensures proper relief procedures; schedules overtime as necessary. Ensures proper permits to work are in place
  • Responsible for planning of the shifts and manpower. Work closely together with the customer service department for all operational activities., determines blend calculations
  • Supervises the establishment of quantities in book stock including provisional and final declaration, validates tanks measurements, investigates inventory discrepancies and tolerance control objectives
  • Coordinate with maintenance on planning and day-to-day activities.
  • Responsible for compliance with LOTO program and Permit to Work systems.
  • Oversees and manages waste disposal operations as required
  • Maintains employee training records; ensures all training is current; conducts safety meetings and periodic operational training sessions; collaborates with Training Coordinator
  • Trains regularly on all Federal, state and local environmental regulations, requirements and guidelines including, but not limited to, RCRA requirements; follows and adheres to all guidelines, regulations, and requirements
  • Functions as a First Responder for emergency situations inside and outside of facility
  • Confronts problems and conducts proper actions for discipline of employees
  • Reports incidents, safety violations, operational errors, and inadequate performance of operators to Operations Superintendent;
  • Works with the Operations Superintendent to determine present and future needs for programs, personnel, equipment, and facilities and assumes delegated responsibilities of Manager in his/her absence
  • Performs other duties assigned by the Division President that fall within the generally expected scope of this position

Xycle secures funding for recycling plant.

Xycle has secured funding from investors including Dow, ING, Invest-NL, Vopak, and Polestar Capital to build its first commercial-scale chemical recycling plant in Rotterdam.
