Requirements
  • A high school diploma is required; a technical certificate is a plus.
  • Two to five years of CNC maintenance experience is required.
  • Experience repairing and testing pneumatic and hydraulic systems is required.
  • Familiarity with CNC control systems such as Fanuc, Siemens, or Okuma and basic Programmable Logic Controllers is required.
  • Ability to work unsupervised is required.
  • Ability to comprehend verbal and written instructions is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Excellent computer skills are required to run multiple software applications such as Excel, Word, and Notes.
Responsibilities
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain machine tool equipment and controls.
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic, electronic, software, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
  • Use machine tool manuals, technical documents, and internal and vendor resources to research machine issues.
  • Identify and replace parts as necessary.
  • Complete testing and make adjustments of parts as needed.
  • Complete planned and preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Respond with a sense of urgency to machine-down conditions.
  • Run tests and interpret results to make effective recommendations.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Wieland has acquired Techni-Cast LLC, a South Gate, California-based centrifugal-casting foundry. Founded in 1954, the family-owned company operates two production sites with around 100 employees and holds ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and AS9100 certifications for aerospace suppliers. Techni-Cast offers melting, centrifugal casting, heat treatment and precision machining services. The company's equipment includes CNC machines for tight-tolerance machining and conventional lathes for deburring, enabling delivery of fully processed components for critical applications in demanding markets. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
