Requirements
  • You must have a strong background in Site Reliability Engineering or a closely related DevOps function, with a strong command of Linux systems administration and an understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, routing).
  • You must have experience working directly with external customers to solve difficult technical problems, and your communication must be clear, empathetic, and precise.
  • You need production experience with a major cloud provider, preferably Amazon Web Services, and you should be proficient in its core concepts and services (Virtual Private Cloud, Elastic Compute Cloud, Identity and Access Management, Simple Storage Service) and have experience building and managing infrastructure as code with Terraform.
  • You will be responsible for building and using our observability stack, instrumenting applications, and managing telemetry pipelines for metrics, logs, and traces; you must apply this data to debug complex production incidents, understand system behavior, and define Service Level Objectives.
  • You must be proficient in writing code to automate operational tasks, with expertise in a high-level language such as Python or Go, and strong shell scripting skills (e.g., Bash); you should have experience with monitoring and debugging a complex system using system tools, command line utilities, networking debug tools, and filtering complex logs.
Responsibilities
  • Stabilize and map the current operational workload by embedding with the team, taking ownership of customer deployments, upgrades, and incident response to achieve stability and map toil.
  • Automate operational burdens by writing code, building tooling, and deploying declarative infrastructure to eliminate critical toil; act as a primary stakeholder for larger projects, providing clear requirements to internal tooling and platform teams and ensuring solutions meet operational needs; measure success by reductions in support effort, pages, escalations, and manual tasks.
  • Architect and evangelize by defining and implementing Service Level Objectives, influencing the design of new products for operability, and instilling Site Reliability Engineering principles throughout the engineering organization.
Desired Qualifications
  • Proficiency with Kafka, Postgres, Nginx, Systemd, etc., which is a plus but not required.
  • Proficiency in Nix and NixOS is a plus; they may train you on the job if you have not used Nix before.
  • Exposure to or proficiency in functional programming languages and paradigms is a plus, though not required.

Arista CEO projects $11B in 2026 revenue, up $2B from 2025, as addressable market doubles to $105B

Arista Networks CEO Jayshree Ullal announced at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecom Conference that the company expects to reach $11 billion in revenue in 2026, up from $9 billion in 2025. This marks the first time the cloud networking company will surpass the $10 billion revenue threshold. Ullal noted that Arista's total addressable market has nearly doubled from $60 billion to $105 billion. The company anticipates adding one to two new customers that will each contribute 10% of revenue this year, driven by an expanding customer base and higher spending. Arista is investing in chips, silicon and memory to address an anticipated two-year memory shortage. The company plans to sustain margins through hardware and software differentiation.
