We are always looking for amazing talent who can contribute to our growth and deliver results! Geotab is seeking a Senior Program Manager who will be responsible for managing and providing oversight on a portfolio of interdependent strategic programs or projects, to align and deliver the desired portfolio or program objectives and outcomes. You will be required to work with stakeholders, involving them in key strategic business decisions, to support the development of prioritized strategies or operational initiatives, painting the roadmap for the line of business or within a portfolio. What you’ll do:
As a Senior Program Manager you will be responsible for implementing program tasks, and aligning projects to ensure that the program delivers streams of value constantly. You will also need to provide regular portfolio roadmap reviews and program health indicators to key program stakeholders, support implementing the array of programs or projects that fall within the portfolio strategy, as well as managing day-to-day activities, to ensure the program is timely, and each project or operational initiative is progressing towards its specific contribution to the overall portfolio or program objectives. You will need to work closely with all Geotab teams and external partners to best understand their business needs and ensure a constant delivery of value, aligned to the vision and mission of the line of business being supported. The successful candidate will have strong analytical and project management skills with an ability to identify needs, develop effective solutions, and manage projects through completion. The successful candidate will also be able to manage multiple timelines and contrasting priorities to ensure timely results.
How you’ll make an impact:
- Responsible for the overall program/portfolio execution success by serving as main point of contact for client and senior management for the program/portfolio.
- Support all aspects of the implementation and progression of assigned projects, programs, and/or portfolios as well as activity streams, from original concept through closing activities.
- Support the overall success of the line of business or portfolio in meeting its objectives and goals.
- Provide leadership for multiple functional or project teams by building and motivating members to meet project goals and adhere to their responsibilities and project milestones.
- Establish a fluid program view, strategic plan, or roadmap to deliver all the projects / initiatives included in the program(s).
- Assist in defining the resources required to support the projects falling within the portfolio or program scope.
- Define high-level work plans, and manage the integration of resources and knowledge across projects and tasks.
- Manage an array of program or project issues and risks that fall within the portfolio strategy to mitigate impacts to baseline, dependencies, critical path deliverables, and program outcomes.
- Manage change in scope and establish an intake process to triage these changes as it relates to the overall program objectives
- Communicate expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Provide status reporting regarding milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks and issues — communicating across leadership
- Maintain up-to-date program / project document repository.
- Participate in establishing best practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the organization.
- Ensure adherence to corporate standards and practices and serve as a key contact in the escalation process.
- Work collaboratively with teams to lead the identification and evaluation of demand requirements that will generate the highest business value.
- Providing executive advisory services (escalations, reprioritization and any re-planning required, articulating all aspects that would be impacted by the deferral.
- Support the development of prioritized strategies or operational initiatives while adhering to Geotab global strategic initiatives.
What you’ll bring to this role:
- 3+ years experience in Government Program Management.
- 5 years or more of project management experience working in a company or department with a heavy emphasis on technology.
- Experience working with business stakeholders within a cross-functional matrix environment, with proven ability to negotiate and influence.
- Experience in both program and project management with the ability to successfully drive programs / projects to completion while managing the right balance of process without burdening the entrepreneurial spirit of the company.
- Experience in building programs using different approaches based on company objectives.
- Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
- Excellent leadership, communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated and decisive with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands.
- Experience negotiating vendor/client contracts with proven ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines.
- Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment, with the ability to share knowledge and ideas.
- Strong consulting and facilitation skills.
- Demonstrated track record in identifying and implementing process improvements.
- A strong team-player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.
- Technical competence using software programs, including, but not limited to, Google Suite , Jira and Salesforce.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and comfortable in a flat organization.
- Government experience is a must.
- FedRAMP experience is a plus.
- RFP, RFI, RFQ experience is a plus.
- Post Secondary degree/diploma in Engineering, business, commerce, computer science or a related field
- Certified Project Management Professional is a must.
- Certified Program Manager is an asset.
