  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in design engineering
  • Due to the nature of the duties of this position, this role requires the individual to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. citizenship
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for execution of laboratory and field validation testing, inspection and data acquisition for use in the design and validation of products and services typically does not require Engineering degree
  • Responsible for design and construction of test facilities, test rigs, instrumentation systems and the development of test software
  • Developing conceptual knowledge of professional discipline. May include support roles with specialized expertise or technical knowledge in broad area.
  • Applies general knowledge of business developed through education or past experience. Understands how work of own team contributes to the area.
  • Resolves issues using established procedures. Consults supervisor or more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
  • Collaborates with others to solve issues. For customer facing roles, develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE. Exchanges technical information, asks questions and checks for understanding.
  • Maintain facility control systems, including SCADA, PLC, and DCS.
  • Ensure the safe operation and control of test articles.
  • Implement necessary changes to enhance system performance.
  • Create and interpret logic and flow diagrams for program design.
  • Commission industrial fieldbus networks, including Profibus, Profinet, and EthernetIP.
  • Set up and configure third-party devices.
  • Perform I/O checks on equipment to verify functionality.
  • Collaborate with cell owners and test engineers to understand test cell requirements.
  • Configure supporting facility control systems accordingly.
  • Coordinate and direct trades during new equipment installations.
  • Ensure seamless integration of control systems with new hardware.
  • Apply critical thinking to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Familiarize yourself with GE Aerospace designed control systems.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Contribute ideas and feedback to enhance control systems and operational practices.
Desired Qualifications
  • Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering/Electrical Engineering Technology
  • Understanding of process instrumentation (flow, mass flow, temperature, pressure) and control loop concepts
  • Knowledge of plant operations and industrial environments understanding control system impacts to maintenance and other work processes.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Documentation and Planning: Skillfully document processes, plans, and findings. Organize information logically.
  • Analytical Mindset: Willingness to learn and troubleshoot.
