Requirements
  • A Master's Degree in Nursing is required.
  • At least 3 years of broad-spectrum family medicine experience is required.
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish is highly preferred.
  • Current CPR certification is required.
  • A current Nurse Practitioner license is required.
  • Experience with adults, pediatrics, and/or family practice is required.
  • Ability to work in interdisciplinary teams is required.
  • Must maintain state certification and/or licensure.
Responsibilities
  • Provide primary healthcare to acutely ill and chronically stable patients collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
  • Obtain patient histories and perform physical examinations.
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical problems.
  • Monitor chronic diseases.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic studies.
  • Prescribe and select medications, immunizations, and other treatments.
  • Educate and counsel patients to promote positive health behaviors and disease prevention.
  • Perform and complete routine physical and follow-up examinations.
  • Order diagnostic tests, X-rays, therapeutic injections, and immunizations based on patient symptoms or illness.
  • Coordinate with clinical staff to obtain needed services for patients and families.
  • Maintain accurate medical records containing pertinent patient history, physical findings, diagnoses, and treatments.
  • Refer patients to specialists in accordance with referral policy when necessary.
  • Use, protect, and disclose patients' protected health information only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act standards.
  • Consult with the attending physician as necessary.
  • Perform additional assigned duties.
