Requirements
  • Paralegal certification.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal.
  • Experience with litigation in the state of Pennsylvania is highly encouraged.
  • Solid understanding of civil litigation, including state and federal deadlines and rules.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to think and act independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
Responsibilities
  • Assist attorneys with propounding and responding to discovery, including interrogatories, requests for admissions, requests for production, subpoenas, and deposition binders.
  • Prepare motions and supporting documents and exhibits, and prepare hearing binders.
  • Manage trial preparation, including coordination of witnesses and travel, trial exhibits, charts, trial notebooks, subpoenas, and page lines.
  • Independently obtain, review, and organize medical records and medical billings.
  • Calculate damages, including medical expenses, lost wages, and property damage.
  • Work as part of a team with all levels of experience.
  • Communicate routinely with clients, experts, and attorneys about case status and preparation.
  • Assist attorneys through every phase of litigation with case management, legal-document drafting and proofreading, record organization and review, and preparation for depositions, hearings, and trials.
  • Use legal technology and case-management tools to organize work and streamline workflows.
