Requirements
  • At least 2 years of software engineering or machine learning engineering work experience.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals, including the ability to write clear, tested, maintainable Python code.
  • Experience building and shipping production LLM-agentic systems that use tools, orchestrate multi-step workflows, and behave reliably.
  • Fluency with modern LLM and agent tooling, including model APIs, prompting, tool use, retrieval-augmented generation, MCP, agent frameworks, and evaluations.
  • Ability and willingness to work closely with non-engineers to understand scientific user needs.
Responsibilities
  • Build and refine AI-agentic workflows on the internal framework to help drug discovery scientists generate testable therapeutic hypotheses.
  • Translate drug discovery problems into agent designs and determine where an agentic approach adds value.
  • Integrate agents with the knowledge graph, proprietary methods, scientific literature, and other sources so they reason over appropriate evidence.
  • Expand and maintain existing generative AI tools as the team’s needs and the ecosystem evolve.
  • Contribute to the evaluation of agentic workflows and help shape evaluations, testing, and quality standards.
  • Write clear, maintainable, well-documented code that other team members can build on.
  • Own agentic workflows end to end and propose improvements.
  • Work with scientists, machine learning engineers, software engineers, bioinformaticians, and clinicians to improve drug discovery decisions.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in drug discovery, biology, or another life science domain.
  • Familiarity with knowledge graphs or reasoning over structured or heterogeneous data.
  • Experience building evaluation harnesses or testing strategies for large language model systems.
  • A track record of quickly learning unfamiliar domains and becoming useful.
  • Interest in or experience with biotech or techbio and its impact on patient outcomes.
