To be a successful Director of Engineering, you should have exceptional leadership, communication, and project management skills, years of management experience, and a belief in developing the skills and talents of others.
In order to be considered for this opportunity, you can be located anywhere in the US but you must have a current Structural Engineering license in California. Without this certification, regrettably you will not qualify for this role.

What will you do:
The Director of Engineering is a key addition to our team. On a daily basis, this role will be working with subcontractors, team members, design professionals, and clients. This position is instrumental to developing a high performance team in the field and on the actual job site.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of superior project management, including analysis, documentation, and reporting of various aspects of complex construction projects.
As a Director, you will partner with cross-functional leadership to deliver service excellence. This role will also be heavily involved in pricing requests with a weekly volume average of 60 to 80.

What will you bring to the table:
- Bachelor of Science in Structural Engineering is required; Masters of Science in Structural Engineering is highly preferred
- California SE license is required with a minimum of 5 years experience
- Located Anywhere in the US, as long as you have a California license
- Assist project leadership with documenting and tracking quality assurance and quality control of the work on site. Ensure compliance of the work in alignment with the project requirements and goals. Track major material deliveries and document arrival and quantities as directed by project leadership. Alert project leadership and responsible subcontractors and/or vendors when materials may delay the project
- Create project pricing estimates for internal and external uses
- Ensure contract documents (plans, specifications, addenda, etc.) are updated, accurate, and available to all project team members, including subcontractors
- Assist project leadership in maintaining overall project safety. Maintain safety records, photos, audits, and to assist in enforcing safety rules and requirements as outlined in the Site Specific Safety Plan. Assist in site orientations as needed
- Advanced knowledge of building codes, comfortable with code analysis and application to design situations
- Maintain project meeting minutes for project pre-planning, subcontractor scope review meetings, internal team meetings, OAC meetings, pre-installation meetings, subcontractor coordination meetings, commissioning meetings, closeout meetings, and all other assigned meetings. Ensure that all action items are tracked and followed-up with
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specs, contracts, proposals, estimates, and other regularly encountered items required
