What You Will Be Doing:
We are looking to bring the most powerful, controlled pulsed-fusion device ever constructed online with the goal of generating electrical power. We know this hasn’t been done before, so we are looking for individuals who have translatable experience that can help us accomplish our goals. You will report to our Fusion Test Lead at our Everett, WA office.
You Will:

Control pulsed power, high-energy systems, including mega-joule capacitor systems, while building and exceeding safety standards

Work with large scale vacuum systems, including vacuum cycling quartz vacuum chambers that are 1+ meters in diameter, and handle modifications

Understand plasma physics, including how to create FRC’s and how to design, build, and interpret magnetic, fusion product, and plasma diagnostics

Control systems, including LabView-based control systems and PXIe-NI chassis-based systems, and solve data collection problems in a fast-pulse EMI environment

Contribute to the development of technology and knowledge of how to optimally design, build, and measure FRC fusion devices while working to lead advancements in plasma ionization techniques
Required Skills:
Postgraduate degree or 4+ years of relevant experience with the below:

Pulse Power Electronics- high-voltage capacitor/power supply experience
-
Experience building, fixing, and modifying high vacuum chamber systems

Experience working with and around plasmas (includes high temperature plasmas or electric propulsion)

Large-scale experiment or testing experience on: pinch devices, accelerators, stellarators, tokomaks, power plant operations, or rocket launches
The pay range for this position is $93k-161k. This pay range may be inclusive of several career levels and will be narrowed based on several factors, including the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
