Requirements
  • Must have obtained a graduate degree (MHA, MHSA, MBA, MPH, or equivalent) from an accredited program between May 1, 2027 and July 1, 2028.
  • Graduate school GPA of 3.5 or higher.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral presentations at all levels with a professional demeanor.
  • Personal statement including career goals, reason for application, and what the applicant hopes to gain from the fellowship.
  • Official graduate school transcript(s) uploaded to the Workday portal at the time of application submission by August 31, 2026.
  • Two original letters of recommendation, consisting of either one from a Graduate Program Director or Advisor and one academic or one academic and one professional, uploaded to the Workday portal by August 31, 2026.
  • Ability to quickly learn new concepts and demonstrate strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to exercise discretion, maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive information, and use independent judgment.
  • Ability to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check and any required pre-employment physical or drug screen.
Responsibilities
  • Participate in a one-year administrative fellowship providing on-the-job training in the skills and responsibilities required of a cancer center administrator in a major academic health system.
  • Work with administrators and staff at all levels of the organization under the direction of the Associate Executive Director and collaboratively with the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Complete rotations throughout the cancer hospital and outpatient centers to learn the functions and structure of the organization.
  • Rotate with each member of the leadership team, meet department managers and key faculty, participate in committee meetings and councils, shadow senior organizational leaders, and work on projects and tasks.
  • Participate in program design and implementation, policy evaluation and procedure development, operational process and workflow analysis, staff and line support, financial impact and budget review, compliance and regulatory assessment, and project management or strategy development.
  • Attend appropriate meetings and participate in committee work.
  • Participate actively in day-to-day administrative operations and other management projects based on organizational priorities and the Fellow’s interests and growth opportunities.

  • Proven ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to identify opportunities to create value through responsive and innovative approaches.
  • High degree of computer literacy and competence in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with the ability to build and develop persuasive advanced PowerPoint presentations.
  • Ability to learn new software and management tools as needed.
