Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
- Hold an active state license and national board certification.
- Have DEA registration or eligibility for DEA registration.
- Hold current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification.
- Demonstrate strong clinical skills.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and manage patients with chronic respiratory conditions, including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, bronchiectasis, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary nodules, and chronic cough, under the general supervision of a physician.
- Diagnose and treat sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, central sleep apnea, and hypersomnia.
- Manage continuous positive airway pressure and bilevel positive airway pressure therapy and adherence.
- Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with board-certified pulmonologists.
- Provide patient education on inhaler techniques, disease management, smoking cessation, and sleep hygiene.
- Coordinate care with primary care providers and other specialists.
- Participate in quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives.
