Requirements
- The candidate will be expected to participate in developing and implementing goals and objectives of studies; designs and executes complex laboratory experiments; performs advanced molecular, cellular, and physiological techniques; collects, analyzes and interprets research data; assists with development and implementation of new and/or revised research methodologies and techniques; tests experimental designs, sampling techniques, and analytical methods and make recommendations for utilization; assists in establishment of controls, criteria and research standards; performs routine procedures on lab animals; maintains and oversees animal breeding colonies and/or transgenic mouse colonies; assists with care of lab animals; performs critical analysis of literature relevant to research being undertaken; assists in the preparation of research papers and manuscripts for publication and presentation at national and international conferences and workshops, and in the writing of project reports, articles and other documents; assists principal investigator in the preparation of proposals to obtain new or renewal of extramural funding in support of research; coordinates laboratory activities and work assignments of postdoctoral researchers, graduate and undergraduate students, and laboratory research staff; oversees and coordinates periodic maintenance and testing of laboratory equipment; performs additional duties as assigned.
- Experience and knowledge inflow cytometry, single cell RNA sequencing, tissue histology, animal handling, breeding etc.
Responsibilities
- Assist in designing and implementing goals and objectives of studies in the Kanisicak laboratory and related projects.
- Design and execute complex laboratory experiments.
- Perform advanced molecular, cellular, and physiological techniques.
- Collect, analyze and interpret research data.
- Assist with development and implementation of new and/or revised research methodologies and techniques.
- Test experimental designs, sampling techniques, and analytical methods and make recommendations for utilization.
- Assist in establishment of controls, criteria and research standards.
- Perform routine procedures on laboratory animals.
- Maintain and oversee animal breeding colonies and/or transgenic mouse colonies; assist with care of lab animals.
- Perform critical analysis of literature relevant to the research being undertaken.
- Assist in the preparation of research papers and manuscripts for publication and presentation at national and international conferences and workshops, and in the writing of project reports, articles and other documents.

Desired Qualifications
- Experience with in vivo genetic interrogation methods to determine the lineage plasticity and role of tissue-resident interstitial cells involved in fibrogenesis, regeneration, and angiogenesis; knowledge of cardiovascular and musculoskeletal systems; experience with fibrogenesis or wound healing research; ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment; strong organizational skills; attention to detail; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; proficient in data analysis software such as R or Python; familiarity with single cell sequencing technologies; experience with transgenic mouse models; good communication skills; ability to supervise and coordinate staff.
