Requirements
  • Must be enrolled in a degree program at an accredited college or university as a rising undergraduate junior or senior, graduate student, or post-doctoral student, and remain academically enrolled throughout the internship.
  • Must be able to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects, anticipate project needs, and discern work priorities.
  • Must be able to work effectively with diverse populations, including people of different genders, races, and sexual orientations.
  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and Zoom.
  • Strong research and analytical skills with project management knowledge.
  • Must be located in the St. Louis, Missouri area.
  • Must maintain regular and reliable job attendance.
  • Must exercise independent judgment when evaluating options and making sound decisions.
  • Must have a home office environment that supports effective work amid moderate household noise.
Responsibilities
  • Apply strategic, analytical, and creative thinking to promote AARP Missouri policy issues, including caregiving, healthcare, financial security, consumer protection, and fraud.
  • Assist with all aspects of community engagement activities, both virtual and in-person, including event planning, coordinating with community partners, and preparing event materials.
  • Support the coordination of volunteer outreach programming, attend volunteer meetings, and assist with volunteer correspondence.
  • Provide customer service and build relationships with internal and external partners.
