Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental Chemistry, or a related science major with hydrogeology coursework is required.
  • A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience is required.
  • A valid driver's license with a driving record in good standing is required.
Responsibilities
  • Plan, develop, and execute scientific projects and tasks addressing unique or complex problems or specialty areas, including researching subject areas, defining scope, selecting investigative approaches, developing novel concepts and solutions, and guiding or reviewing project execution.
  • Communicate with clients by email, telephone, and face-to-face meetings as Project Manager, Client Manager, Technical Manager, or under another Project Manager's direction.
  • Deliver projects on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Write and prepare technical reports and complete quality-control reviews of reports, design plans, calculations, data tables, health and safety plans, and other work products.
  • Delegate portions of project deliverables to junior staff and coordinate and manage field work completed by others.
  • Lead permitting and regulatory agency coordination efforts.
  • Solicit client feedback, suggest changes to improve client satisfaction, anticipate potential issues, and develop solutions.
  • Lead, mentor, delegate to, and manage junior staff to support their knowledge and career development.
  • Coordinate internal resources and third-party vendors for project execution and ensure resource availability and allocation.
  • Develop relationships with technical experts throughout the company.
  • Develop proposals by working with clients to understand their goals, technical needs, and requirements.
  • Attend conferences, present on technical topics, and participate in professional associations and committees as appropriate.
  • Participate in client prospecting and develop client plans and key opportunity plans.
  • Review and understand standard operating procedures, standards, and templates; suggest improvements and work with junior staff to implement them.
  • Help develop new standard operating procedures, standards, and templates.
  • Participate in strategic and service-area annual planning.
  • Lead business development for hydrogeologic projects in the Southwest Business Unit.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Master's or PhD is preferred.
  • Experience with statistical analysis and related groundwater statistical analysis software is preferred.
  • Experience with groundwater modeling is a plus.
  • Experience in landfill and other solid waste management facility projects is preferred.
  • Professional registration such as PG, CEG, or CHG is preferred.
