Requirements
  • A master's degree from a regionally accredited institution in Anatomy and/or Physiology, or a master's degree in Biological Sciences with at least six graduate hours in Anatomy and/or Physiology, or a professional degree such as MD, DO, DC, DVM, DPT, PA, or another advanced clinical degree, or a master's degree from a regionally accredited institution with at least eighteen graduate hours in the specific teaching discipline.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven teaching skills and the ability to explain basic concepts and theories in a practical and comprehensible manner.
  • Ability to respond effectively to students from culturally diverse backgrounds and willingness to make students active partners in the teaching and learning process.
  • Computer literacy and experience using computers in the classroom, with willingness to apply technology and innovative approaches to teaching the discipline.
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods and present oral lectures or demonstrations.
  • Ability to walk, bend, lift, reach, stoop, and occasionally carry items exceeding twenty-five pounds.
  • Manual dexterity to operate standard office machines and other required equipment.
  • Ability to follow proper safety standards while employed by the college.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare, instruct, and grade all class coursework.
  • Assign final grades.
  • Maintain regularly scheduled office hours to meet with students.
  • Instruct assigned classes and grade quizzes, tests, and written assignments.
  • Deliver grades and grade justification sheets.
  • Maintain a safe and effective classroom environment.
  • Participate in department, division, and general adjunct faculty meetings.
  • Complete other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • A doctorate from a regionally accredited institution in the teaching discipline.
  • Two to five years of teaching experience in a post-secondary institution.
  • Meeting the appropriate credentialing requirements for the Southern Association for Colleges and Schools.
