Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of work experience in power generation service or industrial mechanical-electrical troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Computer literacy is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics.
  • A good driving record is required.
  • A good disciplinary record, with no disciplines issued within the prior 12 months, is required.
  • Ability to work independently or in teams, exercise common sense and good judgment, learn continuously, and foster a safe working environment.
  • Strong alternating-current and direct-current power skills are required for electrical troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and maintain organized files.
  • Ability to provide outstanding customer service and develop a loyal customer base.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and frequently push or pull up to 100 pounds, with occasional climbing, crawling, crouching, kneeling, stooping, balancing, and overhead work.
  • Ability to work around moving mechanical parts, heights, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and electrical-shock hazards.
Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs on backup power generation equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical controls, switchgear, batteries, battery chargers, heaters, motors, pumps, contactors, relays, generator components, and related accessories.
  • Provide service and customer support during field visits or dispatches.
  • Manage on-site installation, repair, maintenance, and testing tasks.
  • Diagnose errors and technical problems and determine appropriate solutions.
  • Produce timely and detailed service and expense reports.
  • Operate a vehicle safely and use field automated systems.
  • Understand customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Build positive relationships with customers.
