Our Infrastructure team is a set of broad-minded technologists with diverse backgrounds, who focus on continuously improving the end-to-end resiliency, scalability, visibility, usability, and supportability of Maven’s technology systems.
The Windows Infrastructure team owns the end user experience at Maven, managing technology and facilities to help our users achieve greater productivity. To achieve these goals, the team owns responsibility for the office and desktop environment, communication and collaboration systems, telephony, and more.
The Windows Engineer ensures that Maven’s employees have everything they need to be successful and productive on their desk and at their fingertips. You will take the lead on building efficient desk configurations, moving desks, setting up new PCs, and helping people get the most out of Maven’s computing tools. This position forms the first line of support for IT problems and requests in our New York office, coordinating with the remote members of the Windows Infrastructure team and other local Technology staff as necessary to resolve desktop related problems and keep our company productive. Maven is a varied and fast paced environment; there’s never a dull moment and always something new to learn.
Role Specifications
Manage the installation and configuration of desktop computing solutions
Provide first level support for the Windows desktop environments
Coordinate and execute staff desk moves
Set up desks for new staff
Follow and update procedural documentation
Maintain and update inventory of office IT equipment
Configure telephones, printers, and other common office technology
Work with external vendors and suppliers as required
Candidate Specifications
- Experience engineering desktop environments for maximum reliability and ease of management using Active directory, Group policy and software provisioning tools.
• History of managing Windows Server systems and their associated infrastructure
• Good understanding of storage systems
• A drive to automate tasks (strong PowerShell and/or python skills)
• Deep familiarity with Office 365 and BYOD remote computing
• Good understanding of networking technologies
• Willingness to take ownership of processes and technologies
• History of continuous technical growth
