Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited school of radiologic technology and one year of radiologic experience.
  • Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), Computed Tomography, and licensed by the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association.
  • Must be able to produce very high-quality imaging with little supervision.
  • Must be able to function effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Must be familiar with age specific criteria.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either from American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers or American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
  • Proactively maintains and renews ARRT, state license, BLS, PPD, respirator fit test, and POC training.
Responsibilities
  • Perform high quality radiology and computed tomography examinations on neonate through geriatrics for interpretation by a physician.
  • Operate imaging equipment including Radiology and CT, Mammography, or MRI following radiation safety guidelines based on hospital policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide radiographic support for all areas of the hospital as needed.
  • Position patients accurately for specific anatomic imaging using appropriate immobilization devices when required.
  • Avoid excessive repeated examinations by following guidelines.
