Requirements
  • Familiarity with strict quality management systems and standards such as AS9100, ISO, and NADCAP.
  • At least 2 years of experience working in manufacturing quality control, preferably in an AS9100 aerospace environment.
  • Proficiency in blueprint reading and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, interpreting complex engineering drawings, and interpreting special process notes.
  • Ability to operate manual and digital handheld inspection instruments, metrology tools, and gauges in a manufacturing environment producing parts with tight tolerances and complex features.
  • Experience with ballooning and inspection software, including coordinate measuring machines, vision inspection systems, and optical comparators.
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze and prioritize information.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.
  • Authorization to work for any employer in the United States is required.
Responsibilities
  • Perform blueprint ballooning, or bubbling, on engineering drawings to assign unique identification numbers to every dimension, note, and tolerance.
  • Perform and prepare reports for mechanical inspections on plastic, machined metal, and assemblies according to customer specifications.
  • Perform technical plans, capability studies, and gage Repeatability and Reproducibility studies.
  • Conduct certification reviews and validate objective evidence, including raw material certificates, plating processes, and heat-treatment logs, to ensure complete traceability.
  • Recommend and develop inspection methods using manual, vision, and automated inspection precision metrology equipment.
  • Work with Engineering and Production to address product issues.
  • Supply objective evidence and required First Article Inspection packages to internal teams, customers, and regulatory auditors.
  • Adhere to all AS9100 requirements specified in work instructions and by the supervisor.
  • Complete other duties and special projects assigned by the manager.
