Requirements
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Previous project management experience
- Ability to handle multiple complex projects simultaneously
- Ability to understand detailed compute requirements and articulate these to cross functional teams
- People management - Lead a team of lab systems engineers to provide excellent customer service for our lab compute environment
- Knowledge of server configuration, monitoring, virtualization (Hyper-V or VMWare), scripting, hardware lifecycle management
- Systems Management - Application packaging, deployment, scripting, OS patch management, OS Deployment (MacOS a plus)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Active Directory administration, including disaster recovery, group policy, sites, DNS, delegation, security, replication, Azure AD, etc
- Intermediate knowledge of WAN/ LAN technologies and troubleshooting skills
- Systems management and monitoring experience.Nagios, Splunk, iDRAC, iLO, Workspace One
- Cloud technology experience (GCP, AWS, Azure)
- Demonstrated skill in structured troubleshooting and complex issue resolution
- Broad experience and knowledge of Windows Server and Linux operating systems
- ITIL certification or experience (Incident, Problem and Change Management)
- BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or 10+ years in related experience
- Certifications in one or more of the following are preferred: Microsoft, ITIL, Cisco
- 10+ years of related work experience in enterprise architecture / technical operations
- 10+ years of experience working with cross-functional teams and heavily matrixed organizations
Responsibilities
- Act as hands-on resource to define technical requirements and implement mission critical, secure, lab computing solutions
- Maintain currency of technology solutions across our portfolio
- Explore new capabilities and emerging technologies, defining business value, and applying to clinical technology roadmaps where appropriate
- Establish trusted partnerships with peers and all colleagues throughout the business
- Work with stakeholders to identify business needs and prioritize the critical few
- Effectively balance break/fix work and project work to help drive key lab objectives
- Encourage open and effective two-way communication between infrastructure and security teams
- Ensure that IT resources are utilized efficiently and effectively; maintain visibility of resource utilization (backward looking) and resource demands (forward looking)
- Oversee the growth and development of the Enterprise Infrastructure Lab Admin team, support individual team member development through appropriate coaching, counseling, and mentoring
