Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with 5 years of related professional experience; Master of Science degree within related engineering field (STEM) plus 3 years of professional experience.
  • Experience in one or more of the following: Materials science; modeling, design, or test of superconducting electronics; quantum mechanics; low temperature physics; computer architectures; processing/memory subsystems; large-scale high performance computing systems; analog, RF, or digital design.
  • Strong leadership qualities, including excellent communication and collaboration, team engagement, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with polygraph clearance per business requirements. US Citizenship is a prerequisite.
Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of 6-10 technical staff in management role. Administrative management responsibilities include staffing, performance and compensation management, and career development.
  • Execute in a direct contributor or technical leadership role supporting MDA programs in one of the following areas: Materials science; modeling, design or test of superconducting electronics; quantum mechanics; low temperature physics; computer architectures; processing/memory subsystems; large-scale high performance computing systems; analog, RF, analog or digital design.
  • Work in cooperation with program management to ensure successful execution against cost and schedule targets. Provide technical leadership to the team as they execute their own program roles. Ensure proper engineering processes and procedures are employed.
  • Work with peers and training leads to identify critical skill shortfalls; develop appropriate technical training; and improve team performance.
Desired Qualifications
  • Master’s of Science degree in Physics, Engineering, Business Management, Engineering Leadership, or equivalent.
  • 5 years of experience in a multi-disciplined science/engineering environment
  • Demonstrated success leading high performance teams as technical, integrated product team, and/or functional leader.
  • Experience with Lean-Agile development for modelling and/or hardware systems
  • Experience leading teams in a functional, programmatic, or technical capacity
  • Active TS/SCI with polygraph security clearance.
