Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline with 0–2 years of experience in a manufacturing or technical environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Visio, and a basic understanding of Enterprise Asset Management systems.
  • Familiarity with basic Environmental Health and Safety and Quality principles.
Responsibilities
  • Identify and support process improvements related to equipment preventive-maintenance effectiveness, calibration needs, and equipment performance.
  • Perform new equipment onboarding, troubleshoot equipment issues, and escalate complex problems to senior engineers or support teams as needed.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Facilities teams to ensure equipment qualification elements meet safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform calibration and preventive-maintenance activities on manufacturing equipment and tooling according to defined procedures and schedules.
  • Support risk assessments, including PFMEA, Process Verification and Validation, and calibration requirement specification by gathering data and following established engineering guidance.
  • Maintain accurate equipment records, including work orders, calibration data, preventive-maintenance completion, and asset documentation within Enterprise Asset Management systems and software.
  • Ensure preventive-maintenance and calibration activities are completed on time, applying Lean Total Productive Maintenance principles to maximize equipment reliability and prevent manufacturing downtime.
  • Maintain clear communication with stakeholders regarding work-order status, equipment readiness, and documentation gaps.
  • Assist in training operators or new team members on equipment use, basic troubleshooting, and escalation processes.
Desired Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Installation Qualification, Operational Qualification, and Performance Qualification activities.
  • Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment, such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or life sciences.
  • Proficiency in preventive-maintenance concepts and willingness to learn equipment troubleshooting techniques.
  • Exposure to asset-management or maintenance Enterprise Asset Management software.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude or hands-on experience with manufacturing tools or equipment.
  • Interest in developing long-term technical skills within engineering or maintenance disciplines.

GE HealthCare secures CE mark for Photonova Spectra photon-counting CT system

GE HealthCare has received CE mark approval for its Photonova Spectra photon-counting computed tomography system, enabling commercial sales in markets recognising CE marking. The clearance follows US Food and Drug Administration approval and Japanese regulatory clearance in March 2026. The system uses GE HealthCare's Deep Silicon detector technology to deliver ultra-high definition spectral and spatial imaging. It processes data volumes up to 50 times greater than conventional CT systems, utilising Nvidia's accelerated computing platform. Clinical collaborations are underway at UZ Brussel in Belgium and Rigshospitalet in Denmark to evaluate the system across cardiology, neurology, oncology and musculoskeletal imaging. The CE mark follows more than $5 billion in innovation investment by GE HealthCare.

GE HealthCare launches three new Vivid cardiovascular ultrasound systems for diverse care settings

GE HealthCare has introduced three new cardiovascular ultrasound systems to its Vivid portfolio: Vivid Explorer 1, Vivid Advanced 1, and Vivid Focus 1. The systems were unveiled at the European Society of Cardiology Congress 2026 in Munich, Germany. Each system targets different clinical settings whilst sharing a common technology foundation with the ultra-premium Vivid Pioneer. Vivid Explorer is designed for high-volume echo labs, Vivid Advanced for mid-size hospitals and cardiology practices, and Vivid Focus for everyday cardiac imaging. All three systems use cSound imaging technology and include AI-enabled automation tools to streamline echo workflows. The systems have received CE Mark approval but are awaiting US FDA 510(k) clearance and are not yet available for sale in the United States.

GE HealthCare launches Invenia ABUS Prime and StreamVue for breast cancer screening

GE HealthCare has launched Invenia ABUS Prime and ABUS StreamVue, expanding its breast imaging portfolio with solutions for supplemental screening in women with dense breasts.
