Dollar Tree coming to Huntley.

Dollar Tree coming to Huntley. August 04, 2026 at 12:13 pm CDT A new Dollar Tree store is coming to Huntley. The Village Board recently approved plans for the dollar store south of Regency Parkway and on the east side of Route 47, which is on the Kane County side of town. The store will be going in next door to Tommy's Car Wash in the Huntley Crossings shopping center. The store is expected to be 10,134 square feet. While board members generally liked the concept, they had some issues with the design, including the store's signs. Charlie Nordman, the village's director of development services, said the Dollar Tree sign has been modified to stick out a little better. Two wall signs, one on the front and one on the back, are proposed, as well as a monument sign on the northwest corner of the parking lot. The wall signs are 101 square feet each and the monument sign is 10 feet tall, with a brick base and "surround" to match the building, Nordman said. Elevations of the building were similar to what officials saw in February, and red brick is the primary building material, he said. There is a private access drive to the east of the store and primary access is on the northeast and southeast corners of the property. Nordman said accessible parking spaces were relocated to be closer to the front entrance. He also said bollards will be installed at the front with the ADA-accessible parking spaces and there is a condition that Dollar Tree add more bollards adjacent to the front entrance. When the board recently approved it, trustees thanked Dollar Tree for listening to the feedback they gave. Trustee Marilynn Berendt said she liked the look of the building, especially with the red brick and the gray. She said she liked the green "that's setting off the signage." Dollar Tree representatives thanked Huntley for having them after the vote. The company was not immediately available for further comment Monday. "I didn't want to jump the gun before it was official, but welcome to Huntley and thank you for your interest in our community," Village President Tim Hoeft said after the vote. HAMPTON, Ga. (July 13, 2026) - Value retailer Dollar Tree has been named the new entitlement sponsor of EchoPark Speedway's summer NASCAR Cup Series (NCS) race beginning in 2027. "Partnering with Speedway Motorsports as the Official Value Retailer is an exciting milestone for Dollar Tree as we celebrate our 40th anniversary," said Mike Creedon, Chief Executive Officer at Dollar Tree. "The Dollar Tree 400 is a fitting way to mark this milestone, bringing together two brands that connect with millions of passionate fans across the country. The multi-year sponsorship of EchoPark Speedway's summer NCS race is the latest development in a blossoming partnership between Dollar Tree and Speedway Motorsports. Earlier this year, the retailer branded the "More Fun. More Value" pages across all Speedway Motorsports track websites and became the presenting partner for ticket offers that include a $10 Dollar Tree gift card with the purchase of at least two tickets. Dollar Tree has also activated in the Fan Zones of Speedway Motorsports venues, most recently at EchoPark Speedway this past weekend. The value retailer is also the entitlement partner for the upcoming Dollar Tree 301 NCS event at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Sunday, Aug. 23. The 2027 Dollar Tree 400 will be the second of two NCS events held on EchoPark Speedway's 1.54-mile oval next year. The schedule for these events will be announced at a later date. Dollar Tree boosts buyback to $2.5B, earns analyst upgrades amid expansion plans

Dollar Tree has increased its share repurchase authorisation to $2.50bn and received positive rating revisions from Raymond James and Goldman Sachs, which cited conservative guidance and potential earnings upside. The enlarged buyback programme aims to boost investor confidence alongside the company's operational improvements. Dollar Tree plans to open approximately 400 new stores in 2026, supported by new distribution centres. The expansion is intended to build scale benefits that could help offset higher selling, general and administrative expenses and labour costs. The company's investment narrative depends on whether its value-focused model and multi-price strategy can counter cost pressures and cautious lower-income consumers. Analysts project $23.4bn in revenue and $1.5bn in earnings by 2029, requiring 5.8% annual revenue growth. However, rising labour costs, liability expenses and potential tariff impacts remain key risks that could erode margins and value perception.

Dollar Tree raises guidance as Costco's member growth slows to multi-year low

Dollar Tree raised its full-year profit guidance whilst Costco's growth shows signs of slowing, creating a divergence between two major value retailers. Dollar Tree now expects 2026 adjusted earnings per share between $6.70 and $7.10, driven by operational improvements. Its gross margin expanded by 120 basis points in the latest quarter, with adjusted earnings per share jumping 38%. Costco's adjusted comparable sales grew 6.6%, but new paid member growth slowed to 4.1%, described as the "lowest level in some time" by one analyst. The company's core-on-core margins fell 9 basis points after investing in lower prices. Dollar Tree's operational discipline is reducing shrinkage and expanding margins. Meanwhile, Costco's profitability faces pressure despite maintaining its value proposition for customers.

Dollar Tree shifts beyond $1 model with multi-price format, 3.5% sales growth

Dollar Tree has raised $120 million in a Series C round, demonstrating how value retail is evolving beyond traditional dollar store models. The company posted first-quarter fiscal 2026 comparable sales growth of 3.5%, driven by a 4.5% increase in average ticket, though traffic declined 1%. The retailer is expanding into multi-price formats whilst maintaining value positioning, offering broader assortments and larger pack sizes. Gross margin improved 120 basis points, supported by higher mark-on, lower freight costs and reduced shrinkage. Adjusted operating margin rose 110 basis points to 9.5%. Dollar Tree opened 113 stores in the quarter, ending with 9,382 locations. Over 8,800 stores now offer delivery through Uber Eats, expanding reach to younger, time-constrained shoppers. The company is investing in distribution centres to support larger assortments and improved execution.
