Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree and 7+ years of relevant experience are required.
  • Strong skills in organization, setting goals and priorities, multitasking, attention to detail, problem solving, exercising judgment and discretion, project management, strategic planning, motivating others, and written and oral communication are required.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals in a team-oriented environment, with emphasis on consensus-building skills.
  • Interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively with volunteers, Alumni Engagement staff, Advancement colleagues, and other campus colleagues.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage volunteer relationships and engage alumni volunteers successfully.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all data related to Princeton and its alumni.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends and travel domestically and abroad.
Responsibilities
  • Advise, support, train, and steward alumni volunteer leadership in assigned regions, assisting with association events, communications, programs, and activities.
  • Help Princeton clubs and associations recruit new volunteers across regional associations.
  • Assist with the revival or reinvigoration of clubs in designated areas to increase alumni engagement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues responsible for Affinity Groups, Graduate Alumni, Alumni Education and Travel, Classes and Reunions to maximize participation in regional clubs, associations, and events.
  • Collaborate with alumni academic programming colleagues to promote the Faculty Speakers Bureau and learning opportunities for alumni.
  • Plan, market, and help execute all-alumni University events on campus and in the regions, including program planning, logistics management, budget tracking, and volunteer leadership support.
  • Staff and support signature events, including University Presidential events, Affinity Group Conferences, Homecoming Tailgate, Reunions, Alumni Day, and Orange and Black Day.
  • Assume responsibility for designated Reunion activities.
  • Staff and support designated Alumni Council Executive Committee standing committees and their related programs, meetings, and events.
  • Analyze and track alumni engagement metrics to determine trends and areas of opportunity.
  • Manage, track, and reconcile program budgets.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in higher education, alumni relations, and/or volunteer management.
  • Familiarity with Princeton University, its alumni, and its tradition.
  • Marketing and events experience.
