Your Impact: We own the entire customer facing application layer. It’s where the data team’s journey ends, our journey begins. We read batch daily data from SQL tables and present them to the user in awesomely intuitive products. The products are built on a shared, unified platform. The Role: We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer who is excited to develop and implement a strong quality and automated testing focused on our data pipelines. You’ll be a key contributor to EvolutionIQ’s unified claims platform working closely with data science, data engineering teams to build robust, scalable and high quality data pipelines. Must have significant Python experience and feel comfortable independently determining what is happening in a complex system.

• Create strong development best practices ensuring high quality releases
• Develop data quality checks and maintain pipeline health using Python
• Build and iterate on testing frameworks for continuous testing and delivery

This role is intended for a data engineer as this person will eventually be setting the foundation for development best practices and making changes to the pipelines themselves to be more resilient. You will have a key role in shaping the future of Evolution IQ’s data pipelines. From technology choices to contributing to the roadmap, you will have a large amount of ownership and scope in this role. The team will look to you to provide crucial technical expertise and help prioritize features.

Skill Requirements: The ideal person for this role is an experienced Data Engineer with expertise in data pipeline testing. You should be able to look at a data pipeline and determine what tests we should be using to confirm data quality, consistency, and confidence. In this role you will help ensure the satisfaction of our users by demonstrating that existing and new products meet the highest standards of security, reliability, performance, and user-friendliness. Your job duties will encompass building automation tooling, maintaining and enhancing the test automation framework, optimizing test automation throughout the continuous integration pipeline. 

• Experience with all phases of software testing including test planning, functional testing, regression testing, and designing test architecture
• Experience with test automation of RESTful APIs, databases, and data pipelines
• Significant database experience with a focus on the data quality
• Experience with working in an Agile environment and CI/CD driven testing culture
• Ideally Demonstrates programming skills in Python using PyTest, Jest and DBT
• Understanding of contract testing and the value it can provide
