Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience is preferred.
  • Eight or more years of experience in strategic sourcing, category management, procurement, supply chain, or a related field is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing comprehensive category strategies, strategic sourcing initiatives, and supplier management programs.
  • Specialized expertise sourcing and negotiating complex, high-value agreements for Information Technology Outsourcing, Business Process Outsourcing, and contingent labor categories.
Responsibilities
  • Coach and develop the team to ensure high performance and execution of sourcing strategies across Information Technology, Information Technology Outsourcing, and Business Process Outsourcing categories.
  • Develop and execute multi-year category roadmaps and annual sourcing plans to optimize costs, mitigate risks, and align with business budgets.
  • Partner with business unit leaders to align supplier portfolios and sourcing activities with long-term organizational goals.
  • Lead negotiations for complex, high-value agreements, securing strong legal and commercial terms, key performance indicators, and service level agreements.
  • Collaborate with legal, risk management, and finance to finalize contracts in compliance with procurement standards and internal controls.
  • Drive supplier segmentation, facilitate structured reviews, and foster vendor relationships to yield continuous value and innovation.
  • Oversee day-to-day request-for-X processes, project evaluations, and team workflows to drive process efficiencies and compliance.
  • Support special sourcing projects and perform other assigned duties.
  • Develop, establish, and execute multi-year category strategies and roadmaps aligned with business unit and enterprise objectives.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to align supplier portfolios, sourcing strategies, and operational priorities with long-term business goals.
  • Drive end-to-end strategic sourcing, complex contract negotiations, and supplier performance management to optimize cost, mitigate risk, and generate sustained value.
  • Leverage industry trends, spend analytics, and market intelligence to identify innovation opportunities, operational efficiencies, and long-term cost-reduction strategies.
  • Manage day-to-day sourcing operations and team performance, ensuring compliance with procurement standards, company policies, regulatory requirements, and established controls.
  • Support continuous refinement of internal sourcing processes, procurement standards, and regulatory frameworks.

Cardinal Health forecast fiscal 2027 profit between $12.40 and $12.60 per share, exceeding analyst expectations of $12.04, driven by strong demand for specialty drugs. The US drug distributor's shares rose over 4% in premarket trading. The company's fourth-quarter adjusted profit of $2.91 per share beat estimates of $2.42. However, total revenue of $63.67 billion missed expectations of $65.03 billion. Cardinal Health is benefiting from rising demand for biosimilars and high-margin medicines treating cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, and autoimmune diseases. Its Pharmaceutical and Specialty Solutions unit saw sales increase 6% to $55.4 billion. Last month, Cardinal purchased AdaptHealth's diabetes business and Strive Medical for approximately $360 million combined. The company also announced $1 billion in planned share repurchases for fiscal 2027.

Cardinal Health has agreed to acquire multi-specialty supply company Strive Medical and AdaptHealth's diabetes business for a combined $360 million in cash. The drug distributor said the acquisitions will expand its at-home solutions business, which delivers medical supplies directly to patients. The deals build on Cardinal's recent investments in home care services. The company's at-home unit generated $1.7 billion in revenue during its third quarter this year, helping grow profit by 34% year over year. Cardinal expects the acquisitions to be earnings accretive within a year of closing. AdaptHealth's diabetes unit serves over 225,000 patients annually, primarily delivering continuous glucose monitors. Strive serves more than 20,000 customers yearly, specialising in urology, wound care and incontinence supplies.
