Retro Biosciences is a well-funded, untraditional bio startup. Our mission is to extend healthy human lifespan by 10 yeras. We believe the deeper, underlying causes of age-related diseases are the untreated mechanisms of aging itself.
We are looking for highly organized, and self-motivated person to maintain Retro’s facilities. You’ll be part and parcel with the Retro ops team, and while your primary responsibility will be to keep our facility maintained and compliant. You’ll be juggling multiple balls at once sometimes, but affirmatively within the constraints of a healthy, happy working environment.
What you’ll do in this role:
- Assist in building maintenance and repair of 20,000 sq ft facility
- Complete general contracting tasks such as drywall, painting, and carpentry
- Respond to and resolve basic maintenance requests and issues
- Help with furniture assembly, equipment set-up and other practical tasks
- Support overall facility functions such as cleaning and organization of the space
- Seek out areas requiring upkeep; take the initiative to complete the task
- On-call for emergency coverage on some weekends and holidays
You might thrive in this role if you:
- Have 2+ years in facilities maintenance, as a handyman, or other similar roles
- Are proficient in general contracting work (including drywall, painting, carpentry, metal repair/fabrication, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC)
- Have basic computer skills
- Are not intimidated by tools and fixing things you have never fixed before
- Are resourceful and can figure out how to solve unusual tasks
- Have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
- Have taken or are interested in getting OSHA10 certified (we’ll pay)
- Can lift 50 lbs and climb a ladder
- Are able to wear five different hats in five minutes and enjoy it

We work on (1) partial reprogramming, (2) blood factors, and (3) autophagy to rejuvenate cell and tissue function with the ultimate aim of adding years to healthy human lifespan. We are looking to expand our exceptional team at our Redwood City location. The annual salary range for this role is $33-$36. Total compensation also includes generous equity and benefits.
