Requirements
  • 1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university
  • Four years of satisfactory, full-time community liaison, community organization, or community relations experience
  • At least two years of experience in a broad administrative or policy-making capacity
  • Experience in planning, organizing, coordinating, developing, evaluating, and/or administering a large community service program or activity
Responsibilities
  • Manage the day to day programmatic and administrative functions of the Neighborhood Health Action Center
  • Develop strategies to strengthen partnerships and collaboration between NYC government agencies, schools, community base and private organizations, and City Officials
  • Provide reports on activities, issues, and upcoming events related to the Neighborhood Health Action Center
  • Supervise and provide direction to staff working in the Neighborhood Health Action Center
  • Provide guidance and technical assistance to Action Center partners around community health assessments and planning
  • Work with Research & Evaluation team in writing papers on lessons learned on the Action Center's place-based model
  • Support the Action Center Manager in managing programmatic and administrative functions
  • Hold regular check-ins with direct reports and support them in their professional goals
  • Identify opportunities for programmatic development and expansion
  • Work closely with the Bureau's Executive Director to develop programs and address administrative needs
  • Identify community-based organizations that can serve as ideal partners to cooperate with BNH objectives
  • Serve as liaison with key organizations in the community and represent the bureau in meetings with stakeholders
