Responsibilities
  • Develop new depository and loan customer relationships with prospective clients through an organized and consultative approach.
  • Actively manage and maintain existing clients by monitoring their financial condition and business aspects and responding to their daily and long-term banking needs with minimal oversight.
  • Manage and expand the existing portfolio by overseeing credit renewals, resolving problems, and cross-selling other products with product specialists.
  • Meet with centers of influence, business brokers, certified public accountants, attorneys, real estate agents, business owners, senior executives, and others to evaluate and analyze financial and business needs and provide advice to prospective clients.
  • Develop an understanding of current and potential customers, their business strategies, loan purposes, risk assessments, risk mitigation, repayment sources, financial statements, and asset evaluations.
  • Make independent threshold determinations regarding the creditworthiness of prospective clients.
  • Independently assess risks of proposed and existing loans based on the customer's business, financial history, collateral, future earnings potential, total bank obligation, expected cash flow, and other pertinent factors.
  • Review, analyze, and interpret financial statements, accounting papers, income tax returns, bank policies, and governmental regulations.
  • Scrutinize customer and potential customer information for irregularities, discrepancies, and fraud.
  • Structure and propose credits and negotiate credit pricing, terms, and structures within guidelines.
  • Facilitate resolution of the credit approval process.
  • Monitor loan repayment activities and take necessary action to collect from past-due accounts.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the bank's products, services, credit standards, and trends in commercial banking pricing and products.
  • Monitor local and national economic, financial, political, and legislative events and climates that could affect corporate and commercial lending activities.
  • Maintain professional and community relations to increase the bank's visibility and new business opportunities and support personal development.
  • Ensure compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and its anti-money laundering and Office of Foreign Assets Control policies and procedures, including completion of related online courses.
  • Complete other tasks, responsibilities, or duties as directed by management.
Desired Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • At least five years of credit or commercial loan experience.
