Requirements
  • An associate degree in nursing is required.
  • Current registered nurse licensure is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of nursing management experience in perioperative services is required.
  • Successful completion of a Basic Life Support course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current Basic Life Support certification is required.
  • Successful completion of an Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification is required.
Responsibilities
  • Assume responsibility for all aspects of nursing care delivery in the facility.
  • Lead the operating room, preoperative, and post-anesthesia care unit departments.
  • Oversee facility quality improvement, risk management, infection control, and teammate education.
  • Provide leadership oversight to ensure patient needs are met in accordance with physician instructions and facility policies and procedures.
  • Develop positive working relationships within departments.
  • Provide clear and concise direction to others to promote efficiency throughout the facility's clinical areas.
  • Recognize legal policy limits and individual practice.
