Requirements
  • At least three years of experience supervising at least 10 associates.
  • At least three years of experience in the hotel industry.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Associates must pass appropriate security clearances under company policy.
  • Thorough knowledge of government regulations applicable to the hotel industry is required.
  • Knowledge of accounting processes, including receivables, payables, budgets, invoices, and payroll, is required.
  • Practical knowledge of LBA rules, policies, and procedures is required.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including group presentations, are required.
  • Proficient written and verbal English is required.
  • Financial analysis skills are required to assess business opportunities and their contribution to business success.
  • Project management skills, including organizing and multitasking, are required.
  • Creative and strategic skills are required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook, is required.
  • The associate must be able to stand, lift, bend, stretch, reach, crawl, kneel, walk, communicate effectively, and perform other specified major life activities.
  • The associate must be able to push or pull 60 pounds unassisted and lift or carry 30 pounds unassisted.
  • The associate must be able to stand for eight hours.
  • The associate must be able to work effectively in a stressful atmosphere and cope with frequent changes and interruptions.
  • The associate must be able to work any day or shift, including nights and weekends.
  • The associate must maintain certification from a brand-approved responsible vendor training program.
Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and demonstrate the LBA culture through workplace actions and reactions.
  • Act as the main liaison between the General Manager and daily operations at an extended-stay property.
  • Plan strategically to maximize profits.
  • Manage all major areas of hotel operations and services, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Food and Beverage.
  • Manage personnel, budget performance, and financial controls in accordance with established quality standards.
  • Assume potentially greater responsibility for hotel operations in the absence of the General Manager.
  • Ensure hotel staff properly greet guests, follow uniform standards, and resolve guest complaints appropriately.
  • Manage new-hire processes for each department and ensure newly hired associates complete required paperwork and orientation.
  • Review ongoing training practices to keep associates current on policies and procedures.
  • Hire, train, coach, counsel, and develop associates to maintain a professional, cohesive team.
  • Promote positive morale and a friendly attitude.
  • Monitor communication between departments and the General Manager for timely and accurate information flow.
  • Assist the General Manager in developing and executing short- and long-term financial objectives and exceeding budgeted sales and expense goals.
  • Review cost accounts with the General Manager weekly.
  • Ensure equipment is maintained according to service standards and outages are reported and resolved promptly.
  • Complete administrative duties including scheduling, payroll, inventory, orders, and production controls.
  • Ensure hotel staff follow company rules and policies and oversee implementation of new rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain business and charitable involvement in the community in partnership with the General Manager.
  • Inspect guest rooms, public access areas, and outside grounds for cleanliness, safety, and appearance.
  • Perform other assigned duties the associate is capable of performing.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior experience working in Hilton or Marriott family hotels is preferred.
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred.
