Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must have an active Secret clearance and be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
  • A high school diploma and 10 or more years of experience in Missile Warning or Command and Control Systems, or a Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a related discipline with 5 or more years of such experience, or a Master of Science in Engineering or a related discipline with 2 or more years of such experience.
  • Preferred: Top Secret clearance.
  • Preferred: A master's degree in Engineering or a related degree program.
  • Preferred: 5 to 10 years of experience in network engineering, product lifecycle management tools with preference for ARAS familiarity, Missile Defense Agency policy, procedures and systems architecture, Foreign Military Sales including International Traffic in Arms Regulations policy, and interface control documentation.
  • Preferred: Previous active-duty military experience.
  • Knowledge of Command and Control systems, Missile Warning operations, Global Command and Control Systems, and Cross Domain Solutions.
Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise in identifying, evaluating, preparing, and maintaining architecture, including networks, opportunity-handling approaches, mitigation plans, and opportunity-exploitation plans while monitoring prime-contractor activities in the SEW Program Office.
  • Support definition, planning, organization, network engineering, and opportunity-management efforts across SEWS task orders and U.S. Space Force acquisition activities.
  • Assess and manage resources in projects and project activities for the Space Systems Command SEWS Program Office.
  • Participate in engineering activities required to deliver mission-critical infrastructure and ensure high availability, performance, and security for SEW data delivery.
  • Support networking activities involving resources, configuration management, and changes in networks and information systems at Peterson Space Force Base and other partner locations as needed.
  • Review and collaborate on engineering changes and coordinate with change owners and technical leads.
  • Prepare technical responses and briefings for partner-nation technical exchange meetings and Communications and Interoperability Working Groups through VTC, telecommunications, or in-person meetings.
  • Prepare technical agendas and slide presentations and invite attendees.
  • Coordinate with SEWS Program Office leadership and the Chief Engineer to evaluate engineering changes and network-management processes and procedures.
  • Inform and advise higher-level management on critical project changes and mitigations.
  • Manage and monitor installed systems, infrastructure, and communications networks.
  • Improve network and communications architecture to maintain high availability of systems and infrastructure.
  • Participate in review and approval processes for Change Requests, Configuration Control Boards, Design Reviews, and Joint Engineering Review Boards.
  • Monitor configuration, installation, testing, and maintenance of operating systems, application software, and system-management tools.
  • Participate in planning program-office involvement in exercises supporting partner requirements.
  • Support installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of operating systems, application software, and system-management tools.
  • Identify, evaluate, and provide solutions for issues in program-office engineering processes, including systems, hardware, software, and network upgrades and system maintenance.
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel to resolve problems.

Odyssey lands NVIDIA and Samsung backing to build AI world simulator

Odyssey, an AI research company developing frontier world models, has secured investment from NVentures, NVIDIA's venture capital arm, and Samsung Next. The funding will support development of a general-purpose world simulator capable of generating infinitely long, interactive simulations from any starting point. Founded two years ago, Odyssey recently released Odyssey-2 Pro, a world model that can be integrated into applications across robotics, gaming, education and defence. The investment adds to backing from GV, EQT, Air Street Capital and notable angel investors including Jeff Dean and Elad Gil. The company will use the capital to improve simulation length, quality and interactivity, whilst scaling infrastructure for training next-generation world models. Odyssey's research team includes talent from DeepMind, OpenAI, Tesla, Waymo and Meta.
