AnywhereCam Inc. From Pitch to Growth: A Success Story

AnywhereCam inc. from pitch to growth: A Success story. Mike Blecha grew up and lives in a small rural area in northeastern Colorado. Most of his family, friends, customers and neighbors are hard-working people, many with property and belongings spread around the region. During the pandemic, theft and robbery exponentially increased, and Mike, known in his local community as the 'tech guy', was the go-to person for a surveillance solution. After unsuccessfully trying to implement almost every option currently on the market, Mike decided to build a surveillance camera that anyone could use anywhere, regardless of their access to high-speed internet or power. He created AnywhereCam as a reliable and durable solution to help the people of rural communities have a sense of security regardless of circumstances. When Mike Blecha launched AnywhereCam, he faced the classic startup dilemma: limited funds and limited reach. Marketing efforts generated brief spikes in sales, but without a steady budget, the momentum quickly faded. At the same time, raising a seed round proved equally difficult - few investors resonated with the vision or the scalability of AnywhereCam's technology. Recognizing the need for strategic support. Mike reached out to the Colorado Small Business Development Center (SBDC) in East Colorado for guidance. He knew that to move forward sustainably, he needed more than just grit - he needed sharpened tools, strategic insight, and meaningful connections. Partnering with the Colorado SBDC unlocked several game-changing resources: * * LivePlan Access - AnywhereCam used this robust business planning and financial modeling platform to create compelling, investor-ready projections. * * Strategic Connections - The Colorado SBDC's network linked AnywhereCam with investors and advisors who deeply understood the company's potential. Gaining forward momentum. With a refined pitch and strong financial models, AnywhereCam raised $750,000 in seed funding. These funds didn't just support short-term goals - they empowered the team to pursue full-scale operations, product development, and sustained market growth. Today and tomorrow for AnywhereCam inc. AnywhereCam went from sporadic, bootstrap-driven effort to a well-funded, strategic, and scalable business. Armed with financial clarity, investor alignment, and new industry connections - thanks to the Colorado SBDC - the company is now positioned to expand its market reach and further develop its technology platform. * Agriculture (5) * Business Advice (1) * Business Coaching (1) * Business Development Resources (3) * Business Leadership (1) * Business Planning (53) * Business Success Stories (20) * Business Support (2) * Business Valuation (8) * Career Development (2) * Child Care (1) * Community Partnership (1) * Compliance (2) * Coronavirus (29) * Cybersecurity (3) * Digital commerce (3) * E-commerce (2) * Economic Development (3) * Education (1) * Education & Training (4) * Entrepreneurship (5) * Finance/Capital Access (130) * Financial Coaching (1) * Financial Management (4) * Food & Beverage (4) * Franchising (25) * General Business (97) * Government & Politics (1) * Government Contractors (3) * Health & Wellness (1) * History (1) * Home-Based Business (1) * Hospitality Industry (1) * Human Resources (43) * Idaho (1) * Information Technology (103) * Insurance (9) * Intellectual Property (20) * International Trade (20) * Internet Safety (1) * Leadership Development (1) * Legal (2) * Local Business (2) * Management (41) * Manufacturing (6) * Marketing (193) * Networking/Community (18) * Preschool (1) * Procurement (8) * Rural Business Development (5) * SBDC Impact (6) * SBDC Resources (13) * Security (19) * Small Business Support (4) * Small Businesses (27) * Success Stories (311) * Tax (1) * Technology & Security (6) * Twin Falls (1) * Uncategorized (6) * University Outreach (1) * Veteran Affairs (3) * Veterans and Small Business (40) * Women in Business (6) * Youth Entrepreneurship (21)
