Requirements
  • Current EIT and/or PE registration as a Mechanical Engineer
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
  • 3.5+ to 7+ years of experience working in a consulting firm
  • EIT/FE required; PE preferred or required if Senior Engineer
  • Strong ability to coordinate mechanical systems with architectural, structural, electrical, and telecom, as well as its constructability and cost
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and REVIT experience
Responsibilities
  • Represents Syska Hennessy Group in interactions with clients, contractors, architects, and other project team members
  • Designing large projects, preparing reports and specifications, and providing a high level of technical leadership
  • Assists senior engineer and/or senior designer in determining project scheduling requirements, manpower requirements, and project budgets
  • Assists the senior engineer/senior designer in processing RFIs, Change Orders, Bulletins, and Addenda
  • Begins to establish system application, design, and operational parameters/sequences under the direction of the senior engineer and/or senior designer
  • Creates basic designs under the direction of the senior engineer and/or senior designer, develops specifications, system narratives and system layouts for a variety of projects and project sizes
  • Participates in/Ensure/Oversee QA/QC process for your work and the work of others
  • Performs construction administration and field investigation tasks for assigned projects including conducting field inspections and subsequent detailed inspections reports
  • Represents Syska Hennessy Group and works in close contact with and effectively interact with the internal design team as well as external clients and consultants
  • Participates in various trade organizations and prepares presentations
  • Manages CAD/BIM and other technical staff assigned for particular project or task as directed by the senior engineer/senior designer
  • Assists with employee reviews as requested
  • Estimates construction costs and evaluates feasibility of construction using Rough Order of Magnitude
  • Writes engineering proposals under the direction of a senior engineer or senior designer for projects
Desired Qualifications
  • LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) accreditation
  • Strong ability to coordinate mechanical systems with architectural, structural, electrical, and telecom, as well as its constructability and cost (desirable)
  • Experience with CAD/BIM management and supervision of technical staff (desirable)
  • Experience with QA/QC processes for engineering work (desirable)
  • Field construction administration and site inspection experience (desirable)
