Requirements
  • Bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in a relevant field (e.g., health policy, public health, statistics, epidemiology, economics, psychology, or related fields)
  • Demonstrated evidence of strong skills in statistical analysis and coding (e.g., R, Stata, or SAS)
  • Substantial previous work experience as a research analyst
  • Experience analyzing large-scale administrative datasets (e.g. state or national insurance claims data, HCUP NIS or SIDs)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and independently in research projects
Responsibilities
  • Formulating policy questions
  • Identifying measurable policy-relevant outcomes
  • Using administrative data to examine the impact of maternal and reproductive health policy changes
Desired Qualifications
  • Research interests related to maternal and reproductive health policy in the United States
  • Familiarity with scientific writing for health policy and public health journals
  • Interest in effective knowledge translation to policymakers and public health decision makers
  • Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative spirit
  • Previous experience using the Transformed Medicaid Statistical Information System (T-MSIS) Analytic Files (TAF) to examine maternal health outcomes
  • Master’s or doctoral degree preferred in a relevant field (e.g., health policy, public health, statistics, epidemiology, economics, psychology, or related fields)
