The Cell Science and Technology Department at Sanofi is seeking a motivated candidate to join a high-performing, collaborative team focused on optimizing our internal CHO cell line development platform. The successful applicant will be responsible for establishment of industry leading bioinformatics strategies, pipelines, and processes aimed at gaining a better understanding of the CHO host expression system and ultimately leading to actionable tasks towards performance improvement. The successful applicant will possess a deep expertise in the application of bioinformatic approaches to solve complex challenges related to CHO cell manufacturing (ex. increasing expression, cell line stability, etc.). The ideal candidate will possess expertise in integrating complex multi-omic datasets. This role will entail establishing relationships with key stakeholders across the internal and external network for data storage, curation, and transfer. Work will include frequent cross-functional interactions with colleagues in Sanofi’s global CMC sites (US, France).

Main Responsibilities:
Lead computational biology efforts in strategizing, generating, and analyzing ‘omics datasets, including genomics, transcriptomics, metabolomics, etc.
NGS library prep and analysis from short-read and long-read sequencing platforms
Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate progress and data
Represent CLD function with external collaborators, vendors, and cross functional Sanofi colleagues.
About You
Basic Qualifications:
PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biology, Cell Biology, Bioengineering, or related disciplines with 5-10 years of experience
Demonstrated track record of applying bioinformatic / ‘omics tools and approaches to solve challenges related to biotherapeutic expression and production
Fluent in R (RStudio, R Shiny, markdown), Python, the Python data science ecosystem (pandas, numpy, and data visualization toolkits), Git, Docker, Unix/Linux and AWS(EC2,S3)
Experience in end-to-end analysis of output from DNA-Seq (alignment, variant calling, and variant annotation), bulk RNA-Seq, ChIP-Seq, ATAC-Seq, proteomics data sets, and subsequent pathway analysis (e.g. IPA and KEGG)
Proficient in managing large datasets and bioinformatic outputs within HPC or cloud computing environment and creating insightful data visualizations. Possess a robust background in statistical methods and have expertise in both supervised and unsupervised learning algorithms
Strong technical background and attention to detail
Experience leading projects or project sub-teams and/or managing contract research org (CRO) relationships
Self-motivated with excellent organization, time-management, and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work as member of a team and adhere to timelines
Preferred Qualifications:
Mammalian cell culture experience in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology setting
Genetic characterization method experience (such as ddPCR, qPCR)
Flexibility to adjust to a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment and willingness to expand and broaden skillset.
