  • Experience owning at least one user-facing product experience end to end, including shaping the user journey and working with data, platform, or technical capabilities.
  • Experience with data, analytics, insight, or reporting products, including using data to frame problems, evaluate options, and inform product decisions.
  • Experience managing complex relationships with business and technical stakeholders, ideally including direct engagement with external clients or partners.
  • Experience working in Agile, distributed, cross-functional teams, including matrixed environments where priorities are aligned across multiple teams.
  • Working knowledge of application programming interfaces, data schemas, and system integration principles.

  • Ability to prioritise effectively and deliver large, ambiguous initiatives from discovery through implementation and adoption.

  • Work with engineering, data science, and design counterparts to define and deliver scalable capabilities aligned to the wider product and platform strategy.
  • Define product increments that maximise reuse through application programming interfaces, shared data services, and configurable frameworks rather than point solutions.
  • Collaborate across Product domains so insight, data, and delivery work together into a coherent client experience.
  • Own the execution roadmap for the product and its underlying data and insight capabilities, improving client outcomes and operational efficiency.
  • Write product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, application programming interface contracts, data mappings, and integration specifications where relevant.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for client and partner stakeholders, ensuring requirements are communicated, understood, and delivered successfully.
  • Define and manage the lifecycle of features and data integrations from discovery through implementation, monitoring, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Ensure product requirements account for user experience, data quality, integration, security, and privacy considerations.
  • Identify and frame product problems before they are fully specified by validating the underlying client and user need.
  • Measure adoption, reliability, scalability, and operational performance of the product and its capabilities.
  • Define and monitor client outcomes and non-functional requirements including data quality, latency, uptime, observability, security, and resilience.
  • Prioritise work that improves the client's path to an answer, alongside automation, consistency, and platform scalability.
  • Communicate product strategy, roadmap, and priorities across technical, commercial, and client-facing stakeholders.
  • Build knowledge of retail, customer data, measurement, and the insight needs of retailers and their suppliers.
  • Develop a deep understanding of retailer and supplier users, analysts, and the decisions they are trying to make.
  • Support go-to-market activities by enabling capabilities that accelerate client adoption.
  • Apply platform-first thinking to define reusable, scalable data and insight capabilities.
  • Work with engineering and data teams to design application-programming-interface-first solutions and integration approaches.
  • Translate business and user requirements into application programming interface specifications, data models, workflows, and system behaviours.
  • Evaluate data-sharing models, integration options, and privacy and compliance requirements that shape how insight reaches clients.
  • Contribute to long-term platform architecture that enables insight and data capabilities to be reused across products and clients.
  • Collaborate with engineering to deliver secure, performant, observable, and maintainable capabilities.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in retail, customer data, consumer packaged goods, market measurement, or insight and analytics products.
  • Experience delivering user-facing products involving application-programming-interface-first or data-platform work.
  • Experience working directly with retailer or supplier or consumer packaged goods clients.
  • Exposure to data-platform, data-pipeline, or integration architectures.

Our winners will be revealed at the 2026 RTIH Innovation Awards Ceremony, taking place at The HAC in Central London on Wednesday, 4th November. Our 2025 hall of fame entrants were revealed during a sold out event which took place at The HAC on 16th October and consisted of a drinks reception, three course meal, and awards ceremony presided over by award winning comedian, actress and writer Tiff Stevenson. In his welcome speech, Scott Thompson, Founder and Editor, RTIH, said: "This is the awards' fifth year as a physical event. We started off with just 30 people at the South Place Hotel not far from here, then moved to London Bridge Hotel, then The Barbican, and last year RIBA's HQ in the West End." "But I'm conscious of the fact that, to quote the legend that is Taylor Swift, You're only as hot as your last hit, baby. So, this year we've moved to our biggest venue yet, and also pulled in our largest number of entries to date and broken attendance records." He added: "This year's submissions have without doubt been our best yet. To quote one of the judges: The examples of innovative developments across both traditional and digital retail spaces were truly remarkable." Congratulations to our winners, and a big thank you to our sponsors, judging panel, the legend that is Tiff Stevenson, and all those who attended our 2025 gathering.
