Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in internal communications, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience managing internal communications in a remote or distributed workforce setting.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team, driving strategic vision and operational excellence.
  • Proficiency with digital communication tools and platforms commonly used in remote work environments.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive internal communication strategies aligned with the company mission and business objectives.
  • Oversee engaging content creation for email, intranet, and virtual company meetings for a remote-first workforce, and manage the functional budget in partnership with VP FP&A and the Chief Communications Officer.
  • Establish enterprise communication standards, governance, and planning processes for consistent, timely, and aligned messaging.
  • Lead strategic communication planning for major business initiatives, organizational changes, executive priorities, and cross-functional programs.
  • Partner with business leaders to align messaging, anticipate communication risks, and maximize employee understanding and engagement.
  • Advise the executive leadership team and craft and disseminate key messages across internal channels.
  • Lead the organization’s overall messaging through influence and consultative guidance.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of internal communication professionals.
  • Provide communication guidance during organizational changes, maintain employee feedback channels, and promote open dialogue and continuous improvement.
  • Use metrics to assess internal communication effectiveness and implement data-driven improvements.
  • Align internal messaging with university partner communications and the Brand Team to ensure consistency across audiences and strengthen brand reputation.
  • Develop and execute a strategic internal communications function aligned with organizational mission, priorities, and strategic direction.
  • Establish partnerships with executive and senior leadership to provide strategic communications counsel.
  • Build employee engagement and culture initiatives across a remote-first workforce.
  • Create scalable communications practices that deliver timely, transparent, and impactful messaging.
  • Measure employee engagement, communication awareness, confidence, channel effectiveness, and campaign performance through surveys, feedback channels, analytics, and stakeholder feedback.
  • Execute enterprise communication strategies supporting organizational initiatives, executive priorities, and business transformation efforts within established timelines and objectives.
  • Pursue professional development through industry conferences, webinars, and engagement with thought leaders.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in higher education or education technology sectors.
  • Experience leading executive communications, including strategic messaging, town halls, organizational announcements, and leadership communications for senior executives.
  • Proven success developing communication strategies supporting organizational transformation, change management, and enterprise-wide business initiatives.
  • Experience building employee engagement programs and culture initiatives within remote or hybrid work environments.
  • Familiarity with artificial-intelligence-enabled communication tools, communication analytics, and emerging technologies that improve content development, employee engagement, and communication effectiveness.
  • A Master’s degree.
