Requirements
  • Degree from an accredited veterinary technology program; or an associate degree or bachelor’s degree; completed and successfully passed Veterinary Technician National Examination prior to hire date; State of Ohio Registered Veterinary Technician (Required) at the time of hire.
  • Degree from an accredited Radiology program: Required American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Radiography registered with a current Ohio Department of Health Radiology License at time of hire.
  • Successful candidate must be a Registered Veterinary Technician or Registered Radiologic Technologist in the state of Ohio and complete a background check.
  • Pushing/pulling/lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Exposure to animal dander and/or zoonotic diseases
  • Exposure to needle sticks, hazardous chemicals, and/or bio hazardous waste

Responsibilities
  • Organizes, directs, and provides helpful and collegial assistance to professional students, clinicians, residents, coworkers, and technical students; coordinates unit's services with other hospital services; prepares animal patients and equipment for both radiographic and advanced imaging examinations; obtains high quality images of patients; transfers digital images to Picture Archiving and Communications System; performs special procedures; performs nuclear medicine, computed tomography, positron emission tomography- computed tomography, ultrasonography, magnetic resonance imaging, fluoroscopy, and contrast exams; trains and observes students in technical procedures; assists with clinical research activities; maintains equipment and cleanliness of work area; serves as a contact for scheduling; coordinates patient exams; enters charges, ensures that needed supplies are stocked; and other duties as assigned.
  • Essential Functions include performing Radiographs and special procedures on all patients; performing CT, PETCT, MRI, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine studies on all patients; teaching students and hospital staff how to correctly position and perform radiographs; QA equipment and maintain them in good order; maintaining good working relationships with entire hospital; maintaining charges for exams.
