Requirements
  • Hands-on experience working with large-scale data platforms and developing cloud solutions on the Amazon Web Services data platform, with a proven track record of driving business success.
  • Strong understanding of Amazon Web Services and distributed computing paradigms, with the ability to design and develop batch data-ingestion programs for large datasets using AWS Glue, AWS Lambda, Amazon S3, Amazon Redshift, Snowflake, and Databricks.
  • Ability to develop real-time data-ingestion programs from live sources using Apache Kafka, Spark Streaming, and related technologies, with hands-on programming experience in Python and PySpark.
  • Understanding of DevOps pipelines using Jenkins and GitLab, strong knowledge of data modeling and data architecture concepts, and familiarity with project-management tools and Agile methodology.
  • Knowledge of data-governance principles and tools, including Alation, Glue Data Quality, and data mesh, with the ability to suggest solution architectures for diverse technology applications.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge relevant to risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology, and job-specific technical skills.
Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain data architectures and pipelines that enable the transfer and processing of durable, complete, and consistent data.
  • Design and implement data warehouses and data lakes that manage appropriate data volumes and velocity and adhere to required security measures.
  • Develop processing and analysis algorithms suited to the intended data complexity and volumes.
  • Collaborate with data scientists to build and deploy machine-learning models.
  • Contribute to or set strategy, drive requirements, and make recommendations for change.
  • Plan resources, budgets, and policies; manage and maintain policies and processes; deliver continuous improvements; and escalate policy or procedure breaches.
  • Advise key stakeholders, including functional leadership teams and senior management, on functional and cross-functional areas of impact and alignment.
  • Manage and mitigate risks through assessment in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work performed by the team.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work and business-aligned support areas to remain current with business activity and strategies.
  • Create solutions through sophisticated analytical thought, comparing and selecting complex alternatives; define problems and develop innovative solutions through in-depth analysis and interpretive thinking.
  • Incorporate the outcomes of extensive research into problem-solving processes.
  • Build and maintain trusting relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to accomplish key business objectives through influencing and negotiating skills.
  • As an individual contributor, serve as a subject-matter expert within the discipline, guide technical direction, lead collaborative multi-year assignments, guide team members through structured assignments, identify the need for additional specializations, and train, guide, and coach less-experienced specialists.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working in the financial-services industry and in settlement and sub-ledger functions such as PNS, stock record, settlements, and P&L.
  • Knowledge of BPS, IMPACT, and Gloss products from Broadridge, and experience creating machine-learning models using Python, Spark, and Java.

Supermarket Income REIT secures $565M debt refinancing to cut costs and extend maturity

Supermarket Income REIT has secured a £445 million debt refinancing to lower borrowing costs and extend average debt maturity. The new facilities comprise a £375 million syndicate and £70 million bilateral arrangement, replacing all existing unsecured loan facilities maturing over the next two years. The refinancing includes four facilities ranging from three to five years, all with two one-year extension options. The average margin across facilities is 1.18% above the Sterling Overnight Index Average, delivering annual interest cost savings of approximately £300,000. The REIT has added Lloyds Bank and ABN AMRO as new banking partners whilst retaining relationships with Barclays, HSBC UK, ING and The Royal Bank of Scotland. The refinancing increases the group's weighted average debt maturity from 2.9 years to 3.8 years.
